Simple Essential Oil Diffuser Blends

I've included here a few essential oil blends for your diffuser. If you don't have an aromatherapy diffuser you can purchase one with us.

Create any of the blends (most are in batches of 10 or 20 drops) by adding the proper amount of essential oils to a dark-colored glass bottle. Add the appropriate number of drops from your created blend to your diffuser following the manufacturer's instructions. Be sure and familiarize yourself to the safety and contraindications of all essential oils you choose to use. Make the smallest possible blend first to make sure you like the blend before doubling or tripling the recipe. Thicker essential oils and absolutes (vetivert, pachouli, oakmoss, sandalwood, benzoin) must be carefully used in nebulizing diffusers. Check the instructions that come with your diffuser for specific information.

These particular aromatherapy diffuser recipes were developed specifically for the olefactory pleasure that they provide (that means they simply smell great!). Though they may affect your mood, they weren't formulated with specific therapeutic benefit in mind.

1 drop Neroli
4 drops Lavender

To Reduce Stress
3 drops Bergamot Oil
1 drop Geranium Oil
1 drop Frankincense Oil

 

 

Select one of the blends shown above. Then, choose which method you'd like to use the blend and follow the directions below.

Diffuser
Multiply your blend by 4 to obtain a total of 20 drops of your chosen blend. Add your oils to a dark colored glass bottle and mix well by rollling the bottle in between your hands. Add the appropriate number of drops from your created blend to your diffuser by following the manufacturer’s instructions for your diffuser brand and model.

Bath Oil
Multiply your blend by 3 to obtain a total of 15 drops of your chosen blend. Continue by using the 15 drop blend in the Bath Oil recipe.
Basic Bath Oil Blend
This is a well-balanced oil blend for most skin types. It is nourishing and soothing and it is not too heavy or light. It provides an excellent base for the Aromatherapy Bath Oils that follow. This oil blend may also be used directly on the skin.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. olive oil 
3 oz. almond oil 
1 oz. sesame oil 
1 oz. canola oil 
1/2 oz. wheat germ oil
15-30 drops essential oil of choice 
1 oz. Basic Bath Oil Blend or other carrier oil of choice

Fill small-mouth jar with carrier oil, leaving 1/8 inch of space at the top. Add the essential oils drop by drop, cap the jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake well. Use 1-2 teaspoons of oil per bath.

Bath Salts
Multiply your blend by 3 to obtain a total of 15 drops of your chosen blend. Continue by using the 15 drop blend in the Bath Salts recipe.
Ingredients
3 cups salt. Recommended salt types: Sea Salt, Dead Sea Salt, Himalayan Pink Salt, Epsom salt, or a combination these salts. 
15 drops of your selected essential oil or essential oil blend. 
1 tablespoon Jojoba or other carrier oil.

Massage Oil
Multiply your blend by 2 to obtain a total of 10 drops of your chosen blend. Continue by using the 10 drop blend in the Massage Oil recipe.

1 fl. ounce carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil.
10-12 drops essential oils. Select oils that will compliment the goals of your massage and that are not contraindicated or unsafe to use by the giver or recipient of the massage.

Air Freshener
Multiply your blend by 6 to obtain a total of 30 drops of your chosen blend. Continue by using the 30 drop blend in the Air Freshener recipe.

Combine 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup alcohol, and add 30 drops of essential oil of your choice (depending on how strong you want the scent). Shake the mixture before spraying. The alcohol will help the spray evaporate more quickly, but be careful, the floor may be a little wet for a minute or so after spraying.
